Our students are working extremely hard at showing excellent Dragon Behavior. They earn Dojo Points for making good choices in their classroom, in Specials, in the cafeteria and even on the playground.
At the end of each quarter, these Dojo points are totaled and converted into Dragon Dollars that students are then able to spend at our Dragon Dollar Store.
The Dragon Dollar Store is available due to the generous donations of our families, community partners, and even donations from Donors Choose Donors around the world.
We would like for our store to have some really neat things for students to purchase this year, but because our inventory is currently low, we could use a little help. Please consider making a donation of items for our store. Donations can be new or gently used. Examples include: matchbox cars, small stuffed animals, games, puzzles, etc. We received a huge donation of Happy Meal toys from McDonalds in the last few years, so we do not need any of those at this time. If an item is still in good shape, but your child no longer uses it, we can probably find it a new home through our store. If you find a great deal on the clearance rack, please consider buying extra and donate it to our store. We have also created an Amazon Wish List to make things easier for those who would prefer to purchase something online.

Donations can be given to Mrs. Thomas in the office, or they can be dropped off in the Media Center. As always, we appreciate your support for our Dragons.

Stokes County Schools has transitioned its Student Information System to Infinite Campus as part of a statewide changeover. That shift has gone relatively well as we become more familiar with the system and iron out issues as they arise.

It is paramount that we, as a school system, have the most accurate information available to ensure the protection, privacy, and safety of your students, and to understand your preferences as parents regarding your child’s education.

While many of you have already completed the registration update in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal, we still ask that you complete this questionnaire to ensure we have the most accurate information about your child’s education. The brief 2025–2026 questionnaire is available on the Nancy Reynolds Elementary website (right side of the homepage or under the “Forms” tab) or in the Stokes County Schools mobile app. It takes about 5–10 minutes and provides us with prompt feedback to better serve your child. You will need your child’s unique student ID number to complete the questionnaire. Please note that the form is specific to each school, so be sure to visit each child’s school website or select the correct school in the mobile app.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. I appreciate your understanding as we transition to Infinite Campus and continue to make adjustments to our processes to serve our students and families better.

Here is the first edition of the Dragon Daily News. In the next few weeks, we will collect applications from fourth and fifth graders who are interested in hosting and then will select our hosts.

Note:
For the time being, we will only select fourth and fifth graders as hosts. Hosts must attend school each day and arrive on time. Specific qualifications will be shared during library classes.

Unless unforeseen circumstances arise, broadcasts will be aired daily at 7:30am and will be available for viewing by anyone with the link. Be sure to check these broadcasts for current events at NRES. We will also send newsletters in addition to the weekly phone calls and texts that Mr. Richardson shares on Sundays.

OPEN HOUSE is THIS Thursday! You're welcome to come at 8am, 11am, or 5pm to meet your child's teacher. You do not need an appointment, just come at whichever of the time slots is most convenient for you.

DUE TO ROAD CONSTRUCTION at the main entrance to Nancy Reynolds, there is a DETOUR in place. If you usually travel to NRES by way of Hwy 66N, you'll be detoured to King Road off of Hwy 268. The detour takes you to Brown Mountain Church Road, then back to Hwy 66 at Brown Mountain Church. There are barricades in front of the church blocking through traffic. You can travel past those barricades going South on Hwy 66 until you get to the back parking lot of the school. Just past the back parking lot entrance are more barricades where the road construction begins. The front parking lot is inaccessible. You will need to enter and exit the school from the back parking lot.

Thank you!
